Where do Hampsters come from?? New Hamp-shire hahaha
It's been a little over a month since we have settled in New Hampshire from Massachusetts. In case ya missed the story: Isaac took a night shift contract at Concord Hospital in Concord, New Hampshire until the end of January. We decided to locate to a house for this contract because RVing in the snow just doesn't sound fun. We found a cute house 5 min from Isaac's hospital and a couple just re-bought and needed someone in it for a bit of time. This would also allow us some more time to.find a bigger RV and unpack our current one.
Our RV had been so good to us but by the time the contract was ending in Massachusetts we were all ready for a change. We were stepping all over each other and just needed space. Thank God it was summer and we had the pool and outdoors. So we said goodbye to our RV and Massachusetts and headed up to our cute little house in Concord.
This past month here has been great. We love the area and everything is so close. Well still no Waffle Houses or Chick fil a to Emory's disappointment. There is a cute little park 2-3 blocks up that becomes a great sledding and ice skating location in the winter. We have loved exploring New Hampshire. We went up to Conway and did a Scenic train ride. It was on one of the oldest trains that are still in operation. We then drove the Kangamangus Hwy and stopped and looked at the waterfalls. It's beautiful. We found the local library, farmers market, and Sir Isaac has lots of coffee houses to choose from.
One of the big things I wanted to make sure happened is that the boys, in particular Isaac, interacts with some peers. We keep missing the registration deadlines for sports, but we found a cute little church. It has Sunday programs for Emory and Eli and Tuesday nights are for middle and high school from 6-8p.m.. Isaac as much as he said he didn't want to go, has enjoyed it and "has become close to making a friend". I'll take it. It definitely has been good for his mental health to be around people his own age and his brothers aren't apart of. He was becoming increasingly aggressive or defensive in Massachusetts with not having his own something.
We started school before we left Mass and for the most part all are doing well. Emory gets done fairly early and then bounces around asking if brothers are done so they can play. Eli is doing a curriculum called Build Your Library, that covers Literature, History, Handwriting, and Science. It's a lot of one on one but he is excelling so far. He and Isaac also do a program called CTC math. It's an online and worksheet math program set to their grade level. Isaac is doing a program called Omnibus. It covers History, Religion, and Literature. It's covering C.S. Lewis books which I'm excited for him to read. He does science over zoom with a class off of outschool. Twice a week we zoom in with Laloo and their cousin Asher while Laloo teaches them Spanish. It's definitely a highlight of the week.
Eli turned 10! That boy has been one wild ride since the day he was born. Well, day 2. But it'd be boring without him and we love all of it and him to pieces. But he opted for a big gift instead of an adventure and so he got his own switch. We decided to go to a place for.dinner that everyone says has the best chicken fingers. Everyone says it's the best you'll love it. So we went and we all ordered chicken fingers and when they came we all said...umm clearly there isn't a Chick fila up here. Haha. Oh well. It was still fun.
Mid October the boys got to take their first airplane trip back to Georgia for THE wedding. Mom got married. Gave her away one final time. Lol no exchanges or returns this time. Just Kidding, we like Dan and the boys think he is cool so we are happy to welcome him to the family. The boys loved being on the plane. We got to see the sunrise from the airplane and I in particular found it to be beautiful. Eli kept saying whoa we are in the clouds!
We had a good time back in GA and are thankful for friends who let us stay, getting to see family, and friends during our short trip.
We have also said good bye to Harper. We were hoping she would adjust to travel life but just hadn't. She was anxious of the small rv life with three loud boys which I totally get but poor Rosie was taking the brunt of it. Sir Isaac agreed that if it became to much we could find her a new home. I put her on some rescue sights and an older lady based out of NY reached out and said she had just recently lost a dog and a friend of hers has a heeler and knew they made great pets. So we drove her out there and along the way took in the views of VT and upstate NY. Both are beautiful!
We have been getting updates and she looks like she is adjusting so that makes us happy all around.
Heard someone say Wicked the other day and thar made me giggle. She said "You look wicked young!"
So I'll leave ya with that...people do actually say Wicked.
