We are a Moo family

We spent the day in Amhurst visiting with family. We met up with my dad's cousin( so.i guess my second cousin) David and his wife, Lisa. We had such a good time and were spoiled rotten.  We began the day splitting up. The Isaacs amd David went on a hike while Emory, Eli, Lisa and I went to explore the Eric Carle Museum of Picturebook Art. To say I was excited was an understatement. The kid, the teacher, the parent in me was thrilled to visit this museum. He is one of my favorites. They had an exhibit on his love for Japan and how beloved he is there. They had an exhibit on horses. It was all on how horses are displayed in art whether it's books, prints, etc..The museum houses it's own library, and a make and take gallery. It's a must see.
Once the hikers returned we headed into Amhurst for lunch and a visit to the toystore. On the way they took us by the Yiddish Book Center. I'd love to.come explore this more when it's open. Apparently my Bubbie(grandmother) had books donated there. It looked like it had a beautiful garden to explore. Fun fact: David is my dad's cousin. His father Sol was truly a remarkable man and lived till he was a 100. He was actually my pen pal for awhile. I have the letters, but unfortunately they are packed. History runs in the family. My undergrad was history, My dad is a historian and teaches at a number of universities
, GSU being one, and David is a historian and recently retired from UMASS. I actually remember being in a history class at GSU( can't remember which one) and we were watching a video and being quite surprised when I saw David on the screen speaking about the subject. Another fun fact: My sister is Rachel and David's daughter is Rachel. The lines are obviously intertwined.
Anyways back to our exploring. From a yummy lunch to ice cream. It's like they knew the Newton love language. We drove to a working dairy farm and enjoyed home made ice cream and then went and said hello to the cows that helped make our ice cream. Complete with a Moo. We are a moo family.
On the way home we saw a beautiful rainbow.
We had such a great day exploring and seeing family.
