Cape Cod and a 40th Birthday!

Finally a day to celebrate without rain! Sir Isaac entered a new decade and we thought we'd take the day and head up to Cape Cod to the beach. Isaac wanted to bring Rosie which meant our beach selections were limited, but we discovered Nauset Light Beach. Fun fact- It's the beach that houses the lighthouse featured on the Cape Cod chips.  It's also part of the National Parks. It's one of several.in Cape Cod that serve as part as the National Seashore. Since Eli is entering the 4th grade he gets his National Parks Pass that allows him and the family to get in for free and visit as many as he can in the year.
Once parked we made our trek to the ocean. When the majority of your life is spent in the Florida beaches this beach was different. It's mountainous cliff to one side of ya and ocean on the other. The water was cold, refreshingly cold, but you had to work to swim. It was rocky, forget shells you can do some lovely rock collecting. The boys finally towards the end worked up the courage to make it past the rocks to enjoy some swim time. We were told to go to the left all the way past the mounds of people to set up since we had Rosie.
Isaac took her on a walk down the beach and eventually called us over to see seals! There were 2 or 3 just chilling in the water and would pike their head up every now and then. If I didn't know Rosie was beside us, I would've thought it was Rosie poking her head up...We were so excited to see them, the Cod natives weren't amused, but us Geogia folk were so excited!

We spent our afternoon hanging around the beach and then once everyone was nice and hungry we decided to find some lobster. We settled on a place close to the beach, wasn't the best food ya ever ate, but sure was the most expensive. It wasn't horriable, and I'm sure we will try again!

We finished our evening off with birthday cake and ice cream. I found a lady up here that makes homemade cakes, so I bought a small carrot cake and it was a sweet treat to end our day.

It has been rainy up here. We are still trying to adjust but it was nice to.have a sun filled day to actually enjoy the day and explore.

I put some 4th of July pictures on here as well. We were hoping to spend the day in Boston and explore but we had about 3-4 hours and the rain began again. We did manage to go to the USS Constitution Museum. It was a free family day and we enjoyed learning and seeing the artifacts. We even toward the battleship USS Casin Young. She survived two Kamikaze attacks during WWII.  That was neat to explore and hear some of her crew members speak about it. We ended that day on fancy pizza and a rain filled trip home.

All in all slowly making it into a home.
