Tagging and things...(part 2)
We made it through Oklahoma...whew! And into Texas! When we first talked about this trip, Eli for some reason was for sure not wanting to camp or do anything in Texas. I'm not really sure why, but the whole time we were driving through he kept asking when we would get to Texas. That kid. Keeps me on my toes, or helps to keep my drink supply stocked. 🤷♀️🤪🤷♀️
We drove down Rt66 which was cool, and decided to stop in Amarillo. Of course being a 90's country buff, we listened and I sang George Strait's Amarillo by Morning. The guys weren't impressed. 🤣🤷♀️
We stopped there so we could see Cadallic Ranch. A cool artsy display of old Cadallics-half buried in the ground. People come all over to see these and spray paint messages on them. So the boys each grabbed a can and went to town. What did we teach our 4,7, and 10 year old on our trip? How to properly tag. 🤣🤣. Who knows? Lifeskills 101.
I managed to find my old digital camera amd decided to bring it so the kids could take pictures. It was fun seeing Eli try to figure out how to use it and do an old school selfie.
Made it through Texas to New Mexico. This state is impressive. Rolling hills, desert, canyons, farmlands, and mountains. It seems to have it all. The boys were excited to see real cowboys roping in the cows.
The boys again were give and take. Eli has been pretty calm most of the days so he was a little louder today. He drew a beautiful picture of what he saw along the way. Emory didn't get much of a nap, so he was more winey than usual, And Isaac was only wanting to watch movies, so it was a long ride for him.  At one point I started reading to them and they all fell asleep. I take it as a compliment. Lol. It was a short nap, but for Sir Isaac and I, it was a nice break.
Supper was easy: sandwiches. Speaking of is a hotdog considered a sandwich? hmmmm....
Our ending spot for the night is Blue Water Lake State Park in New Mexico. An off the path campsite, to which the boys were not pleased with the bathroom situation. The views are gorgeous though.
Tomorrow Stop 1 of the Grand Canyon! A short distance. Thank goodness!
