North Rim!
We headed out of Page, Arizona today. I could easily live in Page minus the time zones. Id be late or early everywhere, never on time because I'd never know which time I was in. But I loved the scenery, the small town, and so much to do.
We started on our adventure to the North Rim. We stopped at the Navajo Bridge to take pictures and shop the open air market.
As we were heading out the scenery changed from cliffs and rocks to meadows and forests. Lots of Bob Ross happy little trees everywhere. Fall is in the air. Then it quickly changed to where you saw all the devesastion from the fires earlier this year. It looked as though new trees were already sprouting up in all the burntness.
We stopped at Jacob Lake to get some yummy cookies people raved about and giant milkshakes. Eli had a cone as big as his head. Isaac and Emory shared an oreo shake, Sir Isaac had chocolate and I opted for Peach. They were worth every penny.
We took a wrong turn out and ended up close and personal with the forest. That was a nice scary adventure of not knowing if we would be able to turn the trailer around to get out. But my hubby is a rockstar. He is so good in those situations. We made it out and returned on our way back to the North Rim.
The North Rim isn't as popular so less people and fun lodging. We are staying at the North Canyon Lodge. A real shower and A real bed. I'm soaking it in. We went fancy for our last dinner for the trip. We all tried Elk chili. The boys weren't fans. Pretty tasty if I do say myself.
The big excitement for the day other than milkshakes and getting lost in a forest was Bison. A whole herd of them just hanging out. So cool!
We head out tomorrow after our morning hike.
