8 am we are out the door....well maybe 11
Packing for 3 🐒🐒🐒, a hubby, and yourself for a 14 day trip is no joke. I got a lot of good tips and put several of them into action. I grabbed a giant Rubbermaid and 3 baskets, some gallon size ziplocs and packed for the boys. Labeled the bags with name and numbers so they can grab a bag and go. I figured we would laundry at the first stop at the G.C. so 4 outfits should be plenty. We shall see.
I packed up tons of dry foods, prepped some meals ahead of time. Roped my family into making us a freezer meal and had that done. I froze a gallon of milk, some water and made a giant ice block so.hopefully it stays cool for a bit.
Found some car DVD players a bunch of movies, made goody boxes, snacks, new books, printed games, bought an atlas etc...We are ready!
The 8:00 mark came and went so new goal 9, new goal 10, alright we are on the road...then...right as we turn onto the hwy near our house there was an accident. Isaac decided to pull over to help. He is a good guy and nurse. Has such a servant's heart. Got them squared away and we are off.
5 states in 1 day. I tried to get pics of all the state signs, but only managed Arkansas. We had mapped out our destinations before hand. First night: camping on the Arkansas River. To bad we couldn't enjoy it tonight, tomorrow morning before we head out, we will.
Boys were great up to the last hour or so. Can't blame them. Restless and Hungry. They watched movies, talked Pokemon, did stickers, mazes, mad libs, sang.
Dinner was hotdogs by a camp lantern.
All in all good first day. Goal time is 9 tomorrow, to.travel through Okalhoma! Sing it with me!
Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain
